Maintaining existing network (LAN/WAN) and VoIP systems for Baltimore Convention Center including design, configuration and monitoring. Integrating and implementing network systems such as switches, routers, wireless access infrastructure, VOIP and security control devices.

Job Description:



+ Require knowledge of network essentials.


+ Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience.


+ Cross connecting patch panels; installing hardware and other equipment;


+ Assist senior network engineers to identify and resolve network security issues.


+ Researching new technologies in order to support analysis of existing systems.


+ Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment and devices.


+ Plans and supports network and computing infrastructure.


+ Documents network problems and resolution for future reference.


+ Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.


+ Monitor existing network for threats from within and from the outside.


+ Must understand the overall network topology for including VOIP and telecommunications backbone networks.


+ Able to work with other people within the MIS group and users.


+ Must have understanding of Firewalls and VPN solutions


+ Must have hands-on- experience with Cisco routers and switches of various models


+ Must be able to configure wireless devices.


+ Be of high aptitude and keen on detail.


+ Systems: Windows, Cisco Systems, UNIX, Linux


+ Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, SNMP, STP, DNS.


+ Familiar with operation systems such as Unix and Microsoft.



Job Requirements:



+ Knowledge of Workstation OS.


+ Knowledge of TCP/IP as it relates to subnets.


+ Follow documented server and network Infrastructure.


+ Knowledge of the maintenance/installation of Cisco network.


+ Understanding LAN/WAN medias and protocols


+ Working knowledge of routing protocols, switching and wireless technologies


+ The incumbent must possess an AS in engineering or computer science with four to six years of experience or equivalent work experience.



Desired Skills:


Must have knowledge of the following systems: UNIX/LINUX, CISCO IOS and Windows Server. Must have knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, wireless and VoIP systems (CUCM, CUC, CUP, CUCCX, CUBE, VCS, TMS) ; Firewalls, VPN, IPS, routing protocols and switching technologies, LAN/WAN medias and protocols, Server class PC hardware such as Compaq, HP, IBM, or Dell and workstation/desktop class hardware such as Dell. Must have knowledge of network technologies: LAN, WAN, SNMP, STP, HSRP, VRRP, VSS, GRE, IPsec, NHRP, DNS, QoS, BGP, OSPF, 802.1x, MPLS. Strong teamwork skills and leadership abilities.
