+ Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic seeks a motivated, competent, compassionate and qualified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team of Nurse Practitioners in our Arlington, Virginia location. This is an exciting career opportunity in which the right candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments and evaluations of adolescent and adult clients, in residential and outpatient programs, and prescribing or recommending medication or other forms of treatment as clinically indicated.



+ Current Nurse Practitioner licensure (Virginia preferred)

+ Board certification as a PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)

+ ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred


+ Minimum experience: one year providing high-quality health care to a diverse patient population, preferably within a community health center environment.

+ Experience providing psychiatric assessment/evaluations, and develop evaluation reports.

+ Previous experience facilitating group therapy/medication management to clients taking psychiatric medications.


+ Knowledge of theoretical and pharmacologic issues related to clinical treatment of common psychiatric disorders.

+ Occasional physical exertion --may be required to lift 20 or more pounds, walking, standing, etc. through course of the job. The work environment is that of a substance abuse treatment milieu which may include exposure to clients infected with Hepatitis B, HIV, TB, or other Infectious Diseases.

+ Strong computer skills, to include electronic health records.

+ Experience working in a substance abuse, psychiatric care setting or mental health/behavioral environment

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Must be organized and able to prioritize duties and tasks


+ Full Time, Exempt;

+ Monday through Friday; 9:00am - 5:00pm
