MTEQ is seeking a detail oriented Shipping / Receiving Clerk with extensive knowledge and strong communication skills to join our team of well qualified, diverse individuals at our Lorton, VA Office.





ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:





Receives material and verifies count against accompanying documents. Processes requests for items, prepares and packs items for shipment. Candidate may assist in loading and unloading of shipments. Authorizes and or rejects shipments and informs management of discrepancies. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined subcontractor who ordered. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Maintains work area and serves as contact for suppliers, vendors and subcontractors. Assures that materials, parts and assemblies are stored in an efficient manner and that shipments are prepared in accordance with government specifications. Provides regular reporting to management on warehouse issues.





REQUIREMENTS:



+ Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent, and one to three years of related experience.


+ Must have at least 3 years' experience maintaining large Excel spreadsheets.


+ Requires thorough knowledge of all warehouse and shipping functions.


+ Must be detail-oriented and organized; able to accurately understand orders and prepare shipments.


+ Strong customer service skills to respond to requests in a timely manner are desired.


+ Prior experience with DD Form 1149 or DD Form 250 is desired.


+ Must be able to accurately manage invoices/receipts and spreadsheets for multiple packages/projects daily.



Physical Demands:


o While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl.


o The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.





SECURITY CLEARANCE:


Ability to obtain Security clearance required. Active Security Clearance a plus
